Lightest Double Stroller
When looking for a lightweight double-stroller, the folded dimensions and weight are key aspects to take into consideration. When not in use, choose one that is easy to maneuver and compact. This makes it easier to put it in your car trunk and to navigate through airport gates and international roads.
The most lightweight strollers feature a simple, intuitive fold that allows them to stand on their own. This helps reduce stress on the body of the parent. A few also come with a broad variety of seating options and can accommodate infant car seat carriers.
Kolcraft Cloud Plus
The design is geared towards families who are constantly on moving. Lightweight and easy to carry in one hand compact fold. All-terrain wheels and front suspension as well as a multi-position reclining seats can will accommodate children as heavy as 50 pounds. Trays for parents and children, large storage basket and 3-tier extended canopy with windows that peek out to maximize sun protection.
The Cloud received one of the lowest scores in our quality tests due to a flimsy feel, hard plastic seats and a design that feels dated. It's also more expensive than other strollers with a lighter weight. This makes it a poor option for those seeking the cheapest option.
It's not the most light stroller but it's got enough features that it is worth considering. Its swiveling front wheel makes it easy to move on flat surfaces, and it can jump curbs with little effort unlike other light strollers that veer off course when trying to accomplish the similar thing. The low handle of the Cloud is a drawback, however; it's nearly at knee height and not adjustable. It's not easy to push when your legs are dangling in that way. And the lack of padding doesn't make it any easier.
During testing, we found that the Cloud was easy to set up and open. It's a bit more complicated to close, however. You have to slide a slider and then pull a big white button for it to collapse. This can be frustrating especially if you're juggling kids while doing it.
The Cloud comes with a small but deep storage basket that will accommodate a medium-sized diaper bag. It's a little narrow however it's likely that you'll need to leave something inside to reach the back to retrieve it. The Cloud includes an adult tray and a child tray, each with two cup holders. But both are too narrow for larger cups or bottles.
The Kolcraft brand has been around since 1946 and is a third generation family-owned business. The first products they made were diapers and crib pads, but they now manufacture various baby products like highchairs as well as infant car seats, strollers and toys. The company is based in Chicago, and is an American manufacturer.
Jeep Destination Ultralight SBS
Jeep Destination Ultralight is a lightweight double stroller with a minimalist style that's ideal for travel. It's super light at just 18 lbs (lighter than many single strollers!) It folds flat, making it easy to transport and store. It also has independently reclining seats, as well as large SPF50 sunvisors with a peekaboo view. The visors are adjustable to fit kids of various heights. Plus, it has one-step linked parking brake that is Disney-sized approved.
The swivel wheels on the Jeep are also great for maneuvering over bumps and uneven surfaces. This stroller doesn't accept car seats. Your child must be at minimum six months old and have an excellent neck control to ride on the front seat. The stroller does have a three-panel sun canopy and each seat comes with a cupholder and snack tray.
Another extremely light side-by-side stroller is the Valco Baby Snap Duo Trend. It's heavier than the Kolcraft Cloud Plus, at 23 pounds. However, it's tinier and thinner (26.5 inches wide!) and is packed with double pushchair that make it ideal for travel. It is easy to fold, is very maneuverable and can fit in the overhead compartments of airplanes and trunks easily.
The Joovy Kooper X2 tri-folds and is ultralight, similar to the Summer Infant 3D Pac CS+ Double or Mountain Buggy Nano Duo. It's similar to Jeep Destination Ultralight SBS but it has a few distinct differences. It's a little more expensive, but it offers a more shady sun canopy and better maneuverability. It has a convenient strap for carrying and can be used by kids weighing up to 44 pounds per seat.
Summer 3D Pac CS+ for infants
Summer Infant 3D Pac CS+ is a lightweight stroller with a lot of features. It is not only incredibly lightweight at just 13 lbs but also comes with a ton of storage, including cup holders for the parent and child and a sippy-cup bag for the child as well as a pocket for storage for parents and more. This stroller can also fit the car seat of your child and comes with a brake that is easy to engage that is flip-flop friendly. This stroller is designed to grow along with your child. It can be transformed from a baby stroller into an adult stroller by attaching the car-seat adapters (sold separately) and is suitable for children aged 6 months and up.
Another thing to consider about this stroller is that it operates on swivel wheels, and doesn't have any locking options, so it might not be the best option for terrain that is rocky or hilly. It's still a great option for families of all sizes, since it is easy to maneuver on paved surfaces and other smooth surfaces.
This is one of the lightest and compact double strollers, with all-size features. It folds in one hand and stored in the garage or trunk. It can also be used as a travel stoller and is compatible without additional adapters for most car seats.
Contrary to the majority of lightweight strollers, the Summer Infant 3D Pac CS+ features two seats and can hold up to 50 lbs per seat (100 lbs total). The seats feature individual leg rests, as well as three-panel canopies with flip-out sunvisors and peekaboo window.
The seats are cushioned for your little one's comfort and come with a padded 5-point safety harness that can be adjusted to three different heights. Each seat comes with an infant cushion that is ideal for infants. Parents will love the cup for both parents and children, as well as the holders, the cell phone holder, and large storage basket. The stroller is also available with the Yoyo+ Board which transforms it into a tandem.
Joovy X2 Kooper
The Kooper X2 double stroller is an excellent option for parents who want an easy-to-use double that can carry two kids. Its sling-style seats are comfortable and offer the same amount of headroom as other double strollers. This allows kids to sit together. In contrast to other strollers that are side-by-side that are available, the Kooper X2 offers a fully reclined seat, which is an ideal spot to nap. Its recline mechanism is simple to operate but it isn't genuinely flat; taller kids may notice an unbalanced leg when they sit in a reclined position. It also features a large canopy which we found to be superior in blocking sun than some other options in our best double strollers review.
The stroller is lightweight enough to be able to maneuver through door frames. This was a major issue with other strollers we tried. It folds easily and the handlebars are located close to the ground. Its only downside is its small storage space, which can feel uncomfortable when filled with kid stuff.

In our lab tests we take into consideration a variety of factors in order to assess the ease of use of a double stroller. This includes the ease with which it is possible to fold and set up, how easy it is to adjust the safety harness and how to open and close brakes. We also lift and carry the strollers folded as if they were being placed into a trunk and how to set up and remove a car seat, if it is needed. We also analyzed the strength and durability of each model, as well as whether it comes with a parent tray that can hold both children tray.
The Joovy Kooper X2 received the highest score in our Strollers Test Program due to its ease of use. It also got the top score in our updated guide to the top double strollers. Its user-friendly design comes with one-hand, zero tilt recline as well as a large canopy with ventilation mesh that is visible even when it is tilted. There are also individual kid trays, built-in cupholders and pockets with zippers for parents, and an enormous storage basket.
